Let’s jump right in:
I awarded the Arm & Hammer Super Treadz Gorilla with the Editor’s Choice award because I really like many of the wonderful aspects of this product. I think it’s fantastic because it’s affordable, it’s adorable and durable, it’s made with non-toxic ingredients, and it certainly qualifies as the Best Dog Teeth Cleaner Toy in my humble opinion.
I wasn’t too sure if it was going to be a great product at first. But it surpassed my expectations by leaps and bounds, as you’ll see below when I dive into the specific categories.
For the most part, this product definitely excels in the durability category and it’s especially good for dogs that weigh 25-35 pounds or less.
But that’s not to say that larger dogs couldn’t use it. They just need to use it for the allotted 3-5 minutes and then you need to take it away from them. Otherwise, they’ll end up chewing the thing to pieces.
I also like this product a lot because it’s really safe. They put it together using a great design in the shape of a gorilla, and it doesn’t present as a choking hazard at all. They also added baking soda to the ingredients, which we all know will help clean teeth and it’s also a very safe product at the food grade level, and it’s used in the biggest hospitals around the country.
My dogs really enjoyed this particular treat and they seemed quite satisfied while chewing this gorilla shaped product. As a matter of fact, I had a hard time getting them to put it down when they were done “brushing” their teeth with it.

This isn’t necessarily a toy per se, but something that you use to brush their teeth. So, you only want your dogs to use it for a certain amount of time – like five minutes – before taking it away.
And what about teeth cleaning?
Yeah, it definitely gets the job done. Not only do the ridges get between your dog’s teeth to clean out plaque and tartar, it also contains baking soda. And as we all know, baking soda is a great ingredient to keep your teeth white and sparkling clean.
Lastly, you might want to know whether or not dogs are attracted to this product. Meaning, “Will they voluntarily chew it?” I personally didn’t have a problem getting my dogs to chew away at this funny looking little gorilla and I doubt you will too. My mutts seemed quite attracted to it.

I really liked the fact that this product lasted a while with my dogs and they didn’t tear it apart immediately like they do with some of the toys that I buy from time to time.
With that said, I also awarded the Fine-Pets Dog Chew Toothbrush with the lowest possible score. I gave it an 84 out of 100, which unfortunately puts this product in last place.
Bear in mind:
An 84 out of 100 is actually a very good score. It’s a solid B grade if you were to get an 84 on a test in school. I knocked off some points because the toothbrush is a little on the thin side, so it actually breaks up easier than some of the other toys.
On a side note, reading some of the information posted by customers shows me that most people do not pay attention to instructions. You are only supposed to give this product to your dog for 3-5 minutes and take it away from them because that’s enough time to brush their teeth.
So many people say things like “my dog chewed it to pieces in 20 minutes” or “my dog devoured it in 30 minutes!” If they followed the instructions this never would’ve happened.
As far as the Arm & Hammer gorilla goes, it’s made with extremely durable natural rubber, which helps it withstand the destruction caused by aggressive chewers.

Safety
From a Safety perspective, the Arm & Hammer Super Treadz Gorilla also received the top score out of the entire group. I gave this product a well-deserved 96 out of 100, which is basically an A+ grade.
Why did I award it with such a high score? I did it for a couple of reasons.
For starters, I really appreciate that they made this product using non-toxic all-natural rubber. This means that I can comfortably give it to my dogs and have them chew it and get a good brushing at the same time.
On the other hand, when my dogs eventually chew it to pieces like I know they will, I do not have to worry about them getting sick because it’s made with non-toxic material.
Plus, Arm & Hammer is well known for making very pure baking soda at a food grade level that’s perfect for animal consumption. They put this baking soda in their product as well, so it will get my dog’s teeth really clean without causing any unnecessary harm.
The last place product is also the Fine-Pets Dog Chew Toothbrush. Before you jump to conclusions, please realize that I gave it a 90 out of 100 which is an excellent score. It just happened to be smaller, which I assume is a tiny bit less safe and I’m afraid it could potentially become a choking hazard.

Satisfaction
In the overall category labeled Satisfaction, I gave the Arm & Hammer Super Treadz Gorilla a really great score of 94 out of 100, which happens to place this product in a three-way tie for first place with the Hartz Chew ‘n Clean Bacon Flavored Dog Chew Toy and the M.C. Works Pineapple Dog Dental Chews Toy.
What makes this product so satisfying? It’s hard to guess since I’m not the one actually chewing this toy! But all I can say is that my dogs seem to love it and I have a hard time wrestling it away from them whenever I have them chew it to brush their teeth.
I don’t know about you, but it definitely sounds like a satisfying experience to me! Maybe the pups like the gorilla design? I’m sure it’s a combination of things.

As far as Teeth Cleaning goes, I can once again say that the Arm & Hammer Super Treadz Gorilla was also the first-place product. I gave it an overall score of 98 out of 100, which is practically perfect.
Why did I like this product so much for teeth cleaning?
The answer that should likely be the most obvious is that this product is made by Arm & Hammer. If you know anything about this company, you know that they make food grade baking soda that is perfectly safe and healthy for human and animal consumption.
Adding baking soda to this product makes it even more effective because the baking soda can clean stains from your dog’s teeth. So not only will you eliminate plaque, tartar, and potential ailments like gum disease and gingivitis, you’ll also help your dog maintain beautiful pearly whites.
The product that finished in last place in this category is called the M.C. Works Pineapple Dog Dental Chews Toy. It was a really good product to say the least, so I gave it a 90 out of 100, which is a really good score.
I shaved a few points off of my score because it’s a bigger item, so it’s harder for smaller dogs to effectively chew it to get their teeth clean. But other than that, it’s a great product that’s extremely durable and a good fit for larger dogs.

As for Attraction, the Arm & Hammer Super Treadz Gorilla received a very respectable score of 94 out of 100, which effectively puts this product in second place.
It’s a great product and dogs are very attracted to it. But I couldn’t put it in first place because there is one product that I tested out of the 6 in this group that blew every other product out of the water.
It’s called the Hartz Chew ‘n Clean Bacon Flavored Dog Chew Toy. And as you might imagine, the dogs went absolutely nuts for the great tasting bacon flavor. I gave this product a 98 out of 100 and probably should’ve given it a perfect score.
The last place dog teeth cleaning chew toy is called the Wisedom Dog Toothbrush Stick. The dogs really seemed to like it a lot at certain points, but every once in a while, they would ignore it as well. So, I gave this dog teeth cleaning brush a very respectable 90 out of 100, which I feel is a very good score.

Is It Possible To Put Treats inside The Arm & Hammer Super Treadz Gorilla Dog Teeth Cleaning Toy?
Although it wasn’t specifically designed with this in mind, the product does have a hole at the bottom of the gorilla. Some people like to put treats inside the hole, but I’ve read that a number of dogs had a problem getting to the treats.
One person with a lot of ingenuity decided to cut around the hole to make it larger. She said her dog had no trouble getting the treats out of the hole afterwards and the gorilla still managed to maintain its good condition.
So, treats really do not belong inside of this fun gorilla shape but you can do it anyway if you feel so inclined. Just remember to cut out a bigger hole to make it easier for your dog to get to the treats.

Unfortunately, it seems like the manufacturer is practicing a bit of deception in this particular case, even though they are a pretty good company.
According to the product listing online, it says the origin of this product is made in the USA. But this isn’t 100% true as it turns out.
One astute customer noticed that the packaging did not match the product listing page online. Even though it says that it’s made in the United States on the Internet, the package itself actually says that it’s Made in China.
People like to rip-off companies all the time, so maybe she brought a counterfeit product. I really don’t know and I really didn’t look at the package when I bought it, so I cannot personally confirm or deny if the product is made in the US or China.
Is The Arm & Hammer Super Treadz Gorilla Really Indestructible?
From personal experience, I can say beyond the shadow of a doubt that this product isn’t actually indestructible. It will eventually get torn apart after a while.
But…
I’m also happy to tell you that this product lasted longer than any other dog toothbrush chew toy that I purchased, so you’ll definitely get your money’s worth for a product that doesn’t cost a lot of money to begin with.
I’d say go for it if you’re looking for a product that seems virtually indestructible. It’s not, and we all know that it isn’t going to be, but it definitely lasts for a long, long time.
